Informations about the Departmental Servers

The CS provides some servers in the computer room for common use by all members of the Department.

The services available are: authentication, email, disk space for your home and for personal web pages. You can also work on graphics remotely via ssh on computers configured with useful programmes for mathematical work.

I servizi disponibili sono: la autentificazione, la e-mail, lo spazio disco per le proprie home e per le pagine web personali, e la possibilita' di lavorare anche graficamente in remoto via ssh su macchine configurate con tutti i programmi utili per il lavoro matematico.

• cesaro.cs.dm.unipi.it : NFS File server and mailer for e-mail domain cs.dm.unipi.it.
• gauss.cs.dm.unipi.it LDAP server.
• people.cs.dm.unipi.it aka people.dm.unipi.it: web pages
• users can login to tonelli.cs.dm.unipi.it, zeno.cs.dm.unipi.it, dini.cs.dm.unipi.it via ssh.
  users can edit their web pages in the /pages directory.
  users will find in /bak/ ( read only) their backups (last 3 months).
• manuzio.cs.dm.unipi.it (not accessible outside 131.114.10.0 and 131.114.114.0) is a small printserver
• toeplitz.cs.dm.unipi.it is the front end VM for a group of 5 new servers dedicated to the scientific computing:
  4 Nodes have 256GB RAM and 24 Cores (=48 logical cores) at 2.2GHz each, 1 Node has 128GB RAM and 12 Cores (=24 logical) at 3.4GHz.
  The system is managed by SLURM and both numeric and algebraic softare are available.
